What are your New Year’s Resolution this year?

The holidays are coming to an end and a new year has begun. What are your resolutions for 2018? Did you make a list this time in hopes you will maintain it by the end of the year? Or are you on the same page as me and know you will fall out on your resolutions by the end of January?

Here are some ways you can be loyal to those promises you made at the beginning of the year:

  1. Start Small
    Make your resolutions small so you can keep them going for a while. If your goal is to exercise and be fit try making weekly appointments to go visit a gym, hit a class, or revisit the treadmill you’ve been dreading for a while. When it comes to food try eating healthier by replacing your dessert cravings for something light and refreshing such as yogurt that way your diet doesn’t have to be something you dread.
  2. Change one thing at a time
    You can’t expect to fix all your behaviors at once. So, take it slow and be mindful of what you want to change because over time it will develop. You never need to feel overwhelmed and stressed having to reassess everything that you are going through. Look towards taking baby steps before anything.
  3. Let’s taco bout it
    Nothing is more comforting than knowing your family and friends know and see what you’re up to. When you’re able to share with others it makes it that much more encouraging knowing people will keep you accountable for your resolutions. Take the time to process, think through, and let others know cause support from those near and dear to you can make the process of completing and taking charge of your resolution that much easier.
